Engineer (Shift based) - Electrical & Maintenance. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production effectively and efficiently. Optimising machine efficiency and performance on site, whilst maintaining critical process spare stock. Health & Safety/Hygiene/Quality. Comply and ensure the Company Health and Safety Policy is adhered to in and around the plant to avoid accidents, also ensuring safe working practices are adhered to at all times. Be responsible for your own safety and the safety of others, at all times. Ensure that housekeeping standards are met at all times. Ensure plant and machinery is able to produce to quality specifications and production targets at all times. Actively involved in checking equipment safety and recording same in relevant logs. Machinery/Technical/Process. To carry out Engineering and Technical overhauls on the site to a satisfactory conclusion. To enhance the Engineering/Technical process standards on the site through continuous improvements/modifications to plant machinery to optimise plant performance. To be proactive in avoiding unnecessary downtime by effecting repairs/modifications prior to breakdown. Operate machinery as requested. Minimise waste levels through process to achieve business targets. Optimise machine efficiency to achieve business targets. Suggest improvements/modifications to plant and machinery to optimise plant performance. Organisation/People. Play an active role in communicating and driving employee involvement and engagement through behaviours which promote the company Core Values. Participate in the agreed call out system. Attend any training courses/inter site visit deemed necessary to enhance your skill level to the benefit of the site. To work as a team with other members of the Engineering/Technical Team. To work any shift deemed necessary to facilitate the completion of reconfigures/machine overhauls. Liaise closely with other functions on the site and Shift Manager to ensure adequate information is relayed to optimise the site performance. To undertake work at other Company Plastic sites deemed necessary by the Engineering/Technical Manager on request. To train staff in process technology to enhance skill levels of the site. These duties are not 'limited' or 'fixed' and you may be required to take on additional reasonable responsibilities, as our business needs change'. Adherence to all company policies, procedures and work instructions as relevant. Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required: The ideal candidate for this role will have strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills, taking a hands-on approach to their work. Degree qualified in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering) with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role (good working knowledge of PLC's desirable.
