Our client a successful main contractor based in the Kildare area currently has a job available for a purchasing /procurement manager ideally with a QS / Estimating background. This is an office based position with some travel to sites. You will also be involved in estimating, pricing & purchasing/procurement of materials. An ideal role for someone who is flexible and open to taking on additional responsibilities who has exposure of working closely with suppliers. Monitoring of project costs and alterations and agreeing same with Project managers & Senior QS. Arrange for supplies to be delivered in a timely manner either to store or on site where required. Interact daily with the project manager regarding material required on site and ordering to meet specification required and within budget. Negotiate prices with suppliers. Attending site meetings as required. Reporting to senior management on the financial performance of individual projects. Support the management and maintenance of the contract cost reporting system as directed by the line manager. Managing cash flow in line with costings etc. Reviewing purchasing invoices, delivery dockets and setting up PO system. Daily communication and liaising with Site Manager, contractors, Architects, Consulting Engineer etc. to meet their requirements in relation to material, cost and supply. Collate all materials data for each project and upload to system. Checking supplier delivery dockets, checking rates and advise for final approval on payment list agreed with Senior QS. Maintain monthly reports on material purchases, maintain and update database. Qualification & Skills: 3 years recent relevant experience. Degree qualified in a related discipline.
